What’s the first step to get your Limestone floor back to looking great?
Give me a call or send me an email. We will often initially ask for some pictures of the floor or if you prefer arrange a visit to take a look. Once we have the pictures of your floor and an understanding of what you are looking to achieve, we can provide you with some options to get your floor looking great again. Depending on what your Tiles / floor needs it might just a thorough deep cleaning to remove surface soiling and ingrained dirt of the tile and grout or a full restoration of the floor including honing or polishing if required. We can then often arrange to carry out a FREE no obligation demo patch, so you can see what can be achieved with your actual floor. Below is some help with making that choice or give us a call for advice.
Honing Limestone – A Matt / Dull Finish or light sheen look
You have a few options here depending on your floor and preference. Honing your limestone floor for a matt or light sheen finish can be a great choice. Our refinishing of limestone floors down to the lower grits will give the floor a lovely matt finish or slight higher grit for a beautiful slight sheen.
A honed finish can be easier to maintain in a busy house. Its often a great choice for a heavier used / traffic area such as a Hall or Kitchen floor. It can be more forgiving for scuffs, scratches and even etch marks caused by acid damage.
This honed finish can also be a great choice if your floor installation has issues such as lippage, uneven tiles or lots of factory filler and isn’t really suitable for a high gloss polished finish. The Beige Kitchen limestone floor was honed for our client. They were looking for a more durable finish that was easier to maintain for them and their dog.

Limestone and Marble Floor Polishing
Mechanical Polishing of your limestone and Marble floors can transform a lifeless dull floor into a show piece and amazing asset to your home. A high gloss can have great clarity and reflect the light and objects beautifully.
To achieve this highly polished finish we firstly hone the floor to room damage such as scratches and etch marks and then work through to finer (Higher grit) pads to gradually increase the shine to the desired level, if necessary finishing with a powder polish to really give a fantastic shine
This Nero Marquina Marble floor was polished to a high shine for that wow factor in our clients bathroom. Our client had floor to ceiling windows in a beautiful lakeside location and wanted to get a great reflection and bounce the light. Its difficult to tell in the picture where the windows and floor meet.
The high polished finish really brings out the detail and enhances the colours in the stone
