They can look amazing, however they can be easily damaged from acids and scratches and go from looking fabulous to marked and tired. We often get calls from clients that find out the hard way that the wrong type of cleaners can cause damage to Marble tops. Below are two vanity sink tops with damage caused by etching. This etch damage is caused by products being left on the counter, these products have then eaten the surface leaving a discoloured dull patch. The marble top required honing and repolishng in order to restore the damaged area. 

We began by protecting and masking the area and walls to ensure we kept the working area clean. Once the area was ready to begin the installation I started with a deep clean of the bathroom vanity top and then moved onto our machine honing stage. We honed the marble top with our handheld eccentric and rotary polishing machines and a Diamond impregnated resin pad. This was completed wet so no dust issues for the customer to be concerned with. The honing removes a small amount from the surface and removes the etch damage. Once the damage was removed we worked our was through to higher grit pads restoring the shine to match the original finish. Our honing also removed lighter surface scratching to restore the Marble top to a fantastic finish.

Once the Marble restoration was completd the top had a Colour enhancing impregnator applied and was machine buffed to finish.
