Most of the time the grout colour is chosen to just blend in with the floor colours. Many opt for a light or white grout. When the grout is clean it looks great. Over time dirty grout can become much darker and you suddenly look like you have a collection of tiles with dirty black or dark grey grouting that should be white, cream or light grey!

The grout often sits lower than the tiles so dirty gets stuck in the grout lines and it becomes harder and harder to clean. Sand and cement grouting can also be incredibly porous. Often left unsealed, it becomes a sponge for dirt, soaking it up and getting darker and darker.
