Q. Do you need to have an empty room with no furniture?
No, whilst its sure to put a big smile on my face when I walk into an empty room to begin the floor cleaning its not essential. We typically ask that smaller items such as bins, precious vases, stools / chairs are moved to a different room. We work in sections so moving furniture such as Sofas and dining tables around is fine. We have sliders and lifts to help. 

Q. Is it messy and dusty? 
We work wet so no lingering dust for days after we leave. The floor section being worked on will be wet / dirty but our machines have splash guards so no splashing up walls or anything nasty like that. 

Q. I have a large sideboard or similar can that stay in place? 
Yes absolutely. If you have large items such as sideboards or large cabinets that are always there, they can stay. We can carefully work up to furniture in situ and often under where access allows. All the visible floor around it will be cleaned. If you do want it moved that’s fine too, empty the contents ready for it to be moved. 

Q. Do I have to be away from the house? 
Some clients opt to get their floors transformed whilst they are away on holiday but most clients are home whilst we work, continuing with their work / school runs etc. 

 Q. Is it loud?
The loudest of our kit is probably our wet van used briefly at the end of each cleaning stage. This is a similar level of noise to your household vacuum cleaner. Lots of our clients continue to work from home in another room making conference calls etc just fine. 

Q. Will the whole area be out of bounds?
We work in sections, often dividing larger rooms into 4 or more sections. You might have to walk the long way around the kitchen island or similar but the entire area is not a no go zone.

Q. Should I use a steam mop to clean my stone floor?
I often get asked if steam mops are safe for use with natural stone floors like limestone, marble & travertine. Steam mops are NOT recommended for natural stone. Stone by its nature is porous. The moisture and heat produced from a steam mop can force moisture deep into the natural stone causing spalling and discolouration and also Break down protective sealers leading to staining and dullness. 

Q. What should I use for regular cleaning?
Use a pH neutral cleaner. Apply with a damp micro-fibre mop and don’t soak the floor. Use the correct dilutions, using too much product can lead to residue build-ups and actually cause the floor to get dirtier quicker.
